IUG Chair, Cheryl Gowing opened the program at 2:00 PM.
We currently have 1,028 members. Our membership year runs from July 1 to June 30, the membership fee is $70.00, and an invoice is available on the IUG website. As of December 31, 2005 our current bank balance is $86,666.08.
Update on enhancements:Update on IUG Clearinghouse:
The IUG conference is scheduled for May 19 to 22 in Denver, Colorado at the Hyatt Regency and Colorado Convention Center. A second program survey is scheduled for mid-February.
Registration opens January 30. Those registering by the early bird deadline of February 28 will be eligible for the free registrations. Five free registrations will be raffled off to international participants, and two free registrations will be raffled off to US participants.
IUG 2007 is scheduled for May 14-17 in San Jose, One Connection Marriott & Hilton hotels and the Convention Center. IUG 2008 is schedule for April 29 through May 3 at the Omni Shoreham in Washington, DC.
Betsy Graham, Vice President for Product Management, provided an update from Innovative who will be in Booth 1745 on the exhibit floor. The dessert reception will be Sunday at the Hilton Pavilion from 8:00 - 10:00 PM.
Innovative sessions will be held in the Travis Room at the Marriott Riverwalk. Topics include:The inaugural meeting of the Texas IUG was held Friday morning at the San Antonio Public Library, and Betsy welcomed many of them in attendance at the afternoon program. She also encouraged individuals coming to Denver to join Kristen Hewitt who was running a marathon on Sunday.
Casey Bisson, Plymouth State University, presented " Designing an OPAC for Web 2.0." Casey's presentation is currently available as a Quick-Time movie on his website. His thought-provoking presentation was followed by Dinah Sanders, WebOPAC Product Manager, Innovative Interfaces, Inc. who presented "Make the Most of What You Have: WebOPAC Functions and Features You Should Investigate". Her presentation is available on III's CSDirect site and requires a local III username and password for access.
The program concluded with catalogers taking advantage of the free time to discuss items related to specific products and modules.
