Re: [IUG] Search patron's first name

Good morning! I don't believe that you can search for a patron's first
name at the Circulation Desk. However, you can go to Create Lists and
easily enter a search for patron name "has" and enter the first name.
Make sure you use a large enough file for this! You can then sort by
Patron Name, though that will put the list in order of last name first.
In create lists, you can view the patron records, but if you wish to
check out items, you'll have to then go over to the Circulation Desk
mode in Millennium. The good news is that you can do all of this in the
same Millennium session.

Now, I must ask you...Why would you want to search by a patron's first
name??? Do you do this frequently?
I hope this helps you! We find Create Lists a WONDERFUL help to us and
our Circ staff use it for searching "phone numbers", for reviewing and
cleaning up data input errors (patron records), for managing our missing
items, and lots and lots of other purposes!

Kind regards and have a SUPER day! Eeva

Hello,
We are currently using Horizon, but will switch to Millennium in June.
In testing Millennium, we've run across some problems.

1. Is there a way to search by a patron's first name without adding
an additional field to their record?

Thank You,
Nancy
