- Subject: [IUG] Bib Display Issues in Internet Explorer with 2009B Example Set
Hello all,
I have been working with the 2009B Example Set on our catalog’s
staging port and have run into an odd formatting problem with
bib_display pages while using Internet Explorer.
Here’s what’s happening:
If I view a record in either IE 8 or IE 9 (the browsers I have on my
home and work computers, respectively), most text on the bib display
page is centered. For instance, with
http://library.whittier.edu:2082/record=b1256032, the item’s title,
imprint, note field contents, subject headings, etc. are all
centered/wrapped oddly.
However, with Safari, Chrome, and Firefox, this text is aligned to the
left. I gather this is how it's supposed to display based on all the
other implementations of 2009B that I’ve seen.
At first I thought there was an issue with my INSERTTAG_INHEAD
wwwoption, but my code looks like what’s recommended in the CSDirect
Wiki (http://csdirect.iii.com/lswiki/WebPAC/ExSet09BWwwoptions). I
haven’t customized the HTML of the example set too much, and have only
added a handful of new classes to the stylesheets so I’m confused as
to what’s happening.
I searched the list serv’s archives as well as CSDirect, but I cannot
find anything that explains this behavior.
Can anyone please help me understand what’s wrong or provide
suggestions on where I might find a solution? I can provide screen
shots of the display in IE if anyone needs them.
Thank you and best regards,
