[IUG] Shorter loan period for new and popular DVDs

We are re-examining the way we loan our DVDs and wondering if any other III libraries have dealt with this issue. Because of lack of shelf space, one suggestion is that we shorten the loan period from 7 to 3 days for newly released and/or popular DVDs.

Does any other libraries do something similar? What I am wondering is how labor intensive was the process for updating and maintaining in the system what should, or shouldn't be included in the New DVDs collection.

Any insight into this would be appreciated!
