Re: [IUG] SSO Users - have you ever upgraded OS?

Hi Lee,

It likely depends on what OS you are on and what you are moving to. We had a RedHat Linux Enterprise 3 server and had to move to RedHat Linux Enterprise 5.

In the case of RedHAT, doing an OS upgrade doesn't tend to work well so I was told. We had to use a new server and move our SSO installation to the new server. Innovative did the work after we created the virtual server. There was a cost involved in moving to the SSO software to the other server.

The virtual machine works very well. We have not had any issues with this at all once all the configuration was done. You do have to make sure that apps like AirPAC and Webbridge are included in your set up. Likely, you have them already. As well, if you have Encore can't be moved until you are actually live, but it doesn't take long for them to move Encore to the SSO environment.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Doug
