Same here. I never heard you weren't suppose to, and I have not seen
any negatives to doing it. However, we do not delete the logins and
initials until the replacement has started working. That way, I can
just copy to set of permissions to the new person.

I have deleted many logins and initials without any apparent problems.
I would be interested if someone has had problems.

Subject: [IUG] deleting old logins and initials
Hi all,
I have a question about logins and initials for former employees. IGR
does not seem to contraindicate deleting these old logins and initials,
but it does indicate that "If you delete initials, reports using the
initials display a blank in place of the deleted initials." This seems
acceptable.
However, I have learned that at my institution, a decision was made to
never delete old logins or initials, after discovering that some
unspecified problems occurred if this is done. I have no more
information than this. The decision was likely made some time ago, so
it is possible that this issue has been resolved via software update.
However, I don't see this issue on CDSirect.
I'd like to ask if anyone on the list has experienced negative
consequences after deleting logins and initials. Perhaps logins can be
safely deleted, but not initials? Unfortunately, these old data are
accumulating in the system, and it would be nice to be able to delete
them safely.
Thanks for your time,
