[IUG] Iowa Innovative Users Group
[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]
The libraries of Central College and Des Moines University have recently been working in partnership, hoping to revive the Iowa Innovative Users Group. We propose a day-long meeting to discuss the logistics of reinvigorating the organization and to plan for its future. The meeting will be held at Central College in the Graham Conference Center on November 11th. The outline for the day is as follows:
9:30 am Continental breakfast
10:00 am Welcome from organizers and details of the day's schedule
10:15 am Guest speaker Jennifer Fritz from MAIUG will be speaking about how to form a regional group and answering questions via phone conference. (If you know in advance of any questions you may have, could you please send them to Jill dot Edgerton at dmu dot edu)
11:15 a.m. Group discussion session regarding possible future goals/activities of the IA IUG
Noon Lunch at Central Market (attendees pay for own meal)
1:00 pm Iowa IUG organizational meeting (discussion of standing bylaws, vote in officers, set frequency of meetings, etc.)
2:45 pm Wrapup
This meeting is not only for directors, but is open to any representative(s) from your library. Please note, this is an organizational meeting, with no Innovative training sessions planned. (Though training sessions might certainly be one of the things that the reactivated IA IUG chooses to do down the road!) We hope you will be able to join us! Please RSVP to Sue Van Vark (vanvarks at central dot edu<mailto:vanvarks at central dot edu>) at Geisler Library if you and/or any others from your library plan to attend. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact Larry Marquardt (Larry dot Marquardt at dmu dot edu<mailto:Larry dot Marquardt at dmu dot edu>), Jill Edgerton (Jill dot Edgerton at dmu dot edu<mailto:Jill dot Edgerton at dmu dot edu>), Kyle Winward (winwardk at central dot edu<mailto:winwardk at central dot edu>), or Natalie (hutchinsonn at central dot edu<mailto:hutchinsonn at central dot edu>).
