I've checked our system and they are displaying alphabetically.

Hi Charlotte,

I looked at our "See Related Subjects" and they do not display in alpha order.

I thought I remembered an earlier discussion on the listserv so I did a search and found one post from Karen John in 2008 titled "Re: [IUG] Subject authority notes" where she was reporting this behavior. And another in 2009 Adam Lenarczyk titled " See also display".

It seems that in some systems these headings display in the order they were added to Millennium rather than in alphabetical order.

That is strange. I checked a few related subjects in our catalog and they are all displaying alphabetically. I wonder if there's some problem with your authority indexing. Worth a call to helpdesk, I'd say.

Subject: [IUG] alphabetical list

In MilCat, when a subject search on "vans" is performed, the Authority
Record displays and a second "See Related Subjects" is displayed with these
underneath:

-->See Also narrower term Ford vans

-->See Also narrower term Chevrolet vans

-->See Also narrower term GMC vans

-->See Also narrower term Volkwagen trans

-->See Also narrower term Dodge vans

The "see also narrower term"/s are not alphabetical. Why is that?

I just upgraded them by overlaying to current authority records from OCLC
but it did not help. They are also in this un-alphabetical format in the
online catalog and it does not look nice. With these all being the same
(narrower term), shouldn't they be in alphabetical order? Even when there
are "See Also" references present, they should be alphabetical order. Is
there a setting somewhere that will fix this? Thank you for any
suggestions/resolutions.
