Even if you haven't had Load Profile training, it should be possible for you to set protection for the location field, or any other field.  You do this in the character-based system:  Set System Options > Database Maintenance > Edit overlay protection list.  See IGR page #101871.

Hello all,

I am using Data Exchange to load in records from LTI. I am currently working 
on the .CHG file and noticed that a location of "main" is being added to all 
records loaded. Is their an easy way to protect this field, so no locations 
are changed or added? I have not had load profile training.
