Hi,
I used MarcEdit to convert the ACLS file from UTF8 to MARC and it worked great. MarcEdit, by Terry Reese, is freely available on the web.
In MarcEdit, use MARC Tools and under Functions checkmark Translate to MARC8.
Hope this helps.

We are trying to upload some marc records in the new UTF-8 encode format. We use the Innovative Interfaces Millinum. When I go into data exchange to load the file it gives me the error message that "the leader is not numeric". Has anyone run into this problem and if so how were you able to fix the problem. These files are coming from the Humanities E-book database. For future marc records they are using UTF-8 encoding.
Thanks Much
Sarah
