Hi Linda,

You can do it via MILCAT in the Data Exchange Mode.

In the Select Process dropdown, choose the option "Output MARC records."

Click on the button "Create a Disk File of unblocked MARC records"

>From there you can choose the review file you created. Name the file (it will have the .out extension)

Click start below the screen. Then click Close

You will see the file you created (with the .out extension) from among the list.

Highlight the file and then click on the button "PUT PC"

At this point, you have a .out file so RENAME it to .mrc

Find the file in your computer and open it. It will automatically open using MARCEDIT.

Hope this helps.
Regina

Subject: [IUG] getting a review file into MarcEdit

I have a review file of bib records. I want to edit them using MarcEdit.

How do I get the Marc records from the review file into MarcEdit?

Thanks for your help! (I need to copy the 856 field, then add info to one Marc field for remote access, so there may be more questions coming!)
