I tend to use Rapid Update more in individual record mode, especially if I have the items I want to change in front of me and can scan them in. For anything more wide-scale than that, Global Update is safer and more powerful. You can also use it to see all the different values a field can take, and then modify the ones you need to change while leaving the rest alone.

Subject: [IUG] Rapid update vs. Global update
What are the main differences between Rapid update and Global update?
Which types of tasks are better to do in one or the other?
I know that in Global update you can actually view the data that exists
before you make any changes. But other than that, what reasons are there
to choose one or the other?
Thanks in advance.
