[IUG] "Rules" for Library Staff - Library-Owned Gadgets (iPad, Kindle, etc.)

***Apologies in advance for posting this question on several lists that you may subscribe to***

Good morning,

To those who have gadgets (tablets, Kindles, Nooks, etc.) available for staff training, how do you handle lending out to staff members (in different locations) so that they can familiarize themselves with the equipment? Specifically, I've been asked to make a list of "rules" staff should follow when they borrow a gadget, such as, "Don't leave gadget unattended at public service desk," that sort of thing. We had not planned on cataloging/adding the items to our ILS and checking out to staff, but maybe we should? I would be interested in hearing back from folks who've done something similar. We have no plans to lend these out to the public, so I am interested strictly in staff-only policies.

Also, anyone who would like to share documentation/advice on lending out to staff, including any sort of "petting zoo" curriculum/format, that would be much appreciated!

Thanks much,
