In the past, these empty java windows were always the video card driver version or settings.
Verify you have the latest driver for your video card. If you don't, try updating it.
If you already have the latest driver, try changing the settings (bit depth, anti-aliasing, etc.). If that doesn't work, try an older version or a generic driver.
