[IUG] Re Load Profile Training

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]
Mike -- I radically changed our patron loading by creating a new load
profile. The training was very empowering, but it provides only the basics.
A proficient load profiler has spent many hours working on it and often
relies on the load profile listserv for help. I consider the training close
to essential. It provides important flexibility in dealing with bib, order
or patron data.

I appreciate all of the comments coming in so far ... please continue if you
have more to add.

However, I wanted to respond to Joe's: this is the main reason I am asking
about Load Profile Training. I have started looking at our patron load
process and found some things that were setup before I got here that I
didn't exactly follow. And now that I think I am understanding the patron
load format, I think we can make the process much easier than it is. So, I
was hoping that this type of information was included in the load profile
training. However, is the cost worth what I would gain?

Thanks again for the comments!

Mike
