[IUG] Nature journals through proxy - strange error -

I'm wondering if anyone else is encountering intermittent and unpredictable problems with Nature journals through proxy. The error reported is this:
The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server- The proxy server could not handle the request (url)

Nature is telling me this has to do with Cisco intrusion protection systems and a css flaw on Nature websites. (Which they say they are working on fixing). The Cisco code is CVE2010-3971

I'm not sure I believe them. Some workstations get the error and others don't , even on the same network. Just wondering if anybody else has run across this...
