Re: [IUG] Problems with READREQ in R. 2009b 1.1?

We experienced holds "falling off the holdshelf", which caused holdsheld
expirations to disappear. We have an overnight process installed to fix it
after the fact, but still a few get reported to the helpdesk each month.

Subject: [IUG] Problems with READREQ in R. 2009b 1.1?

Since loading 2009b 1.1, we've been experiencing problems with our holds --
disappearing expiration dates being one of the most common symptoms, but our
staff have experienced others. The problems often seem to be random,
affecting one branch but not another. The chief suspect is the READREQ
program -- it starts consuming lots of CPU power, we stop and re-start it,
and things seem to be OK -- for a while. After a few days (in some cases, a
very few days -- like one or two) the problems start up again. Is anyone
else experiencing anything like this? I didn't see a "Known Issue" for this.

If anyone else is experiencing something similar to this, we'd like to hear
about it.

Many thanks!
