Hi Sue - I don't think we made any special provisions for indexing,
however I am able to pull up my record by my alt ID using the barcode
index so I'm guessing that that is the default. That would make sense
since the alt ID is also the alias. -- Aimee

In your system, is the Alternate ID indexed in the same index as the
regular
ID, or a separate index, or not indexed at all?
We also have been thinking about adding the Alternate ID, and would
appreciate any advice about the indexing question.
