The buttons are grayed out until you select lines to be grouped...or
ungrouped. That may be the problem.

Page  # 100673 of the manual says that you can use the Group button in
create lists to add parentheses around search terms.  We need to do this
for a complicated search, but our Group and Ungroup buttons are greyed
out.

Do these buttons work for others in Create Lists?
