Re: [IUG] fund codes exported as numbers in data exchange

Sounds like what is happening to us when we have purchase orders queued
and we "send" them. We send them to a local email address just to clear
them out, since we don't actually send POs to the vendors. I check the
email to see what has been ordered, and I noticed that the fund codes
are numeric now instead of alphabetic. Makes it harder to see what
funds are being used.

I'm a little confused about where this is occurring. We have two places
I can think of where this might happen in Data Exchange:

Transfer files using FTP (handling .p files, usually "listed" from
Create Lists)
Output order records (archiving purged order records)

Is it one of these or someplace else? I've scheduled us for the 1.1
update but I might cancel it depending on exactly where this is
happening.

Thanks,
Mike

Dear Gail and Nina,

This is the numeric code used internally to represent the FUND code. It
is display problem in the character based system.

Now I realize it is causing problem to the data exchange.

I suggest both of you, and anyone who is affected, report this to III
and request a fix.

In my case, III Helpdesk thinks it is just a character based system
issue and doesn't intend to do anything to fix.

As data exchange is affected too, III needs to do something.

For your reference, the helpdesk call for my case is "c1226968 (hkpu)".
Any other III library in HK are affected too.

Thanks!
