[IUG] Do PINs really work on your self-check units?

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]
Hi all,

We're on 2009A. We noticed sometime after upgrading that our self-check
units no longer require PINs -- that is, the self check unit requests a
PIN, but no matter what the patron types in the transaction is allowed.
We're not 100% sure that this is new behavior -- it's always possible
that it never worked properly and, since the failure results in a
checkout to the patron, we've never noticed it before.

Another wrinkle: We are using options groups so that some of our
self-checks will require PINs and others won't. Innovative tells us
that it's possible that options groups don't work for this particular
function.

Is anybody else out there using options groups to control PINs on self
checkout machines? If so, can you verify that if you type in an invalid
PIN your checkout is refused? Likewise others on 2009A, please.

Thank you! The list has been invaluable as we've been making system
changes the last few months.
