I had exactly that situation. I had to make "Number of days before Odue" less than "Time remaining B4 renew." I made the former "2" and the latter "3." Another detail that we discovered is that patrons can renew online until an overdue notice is generated, which for us is 7 days after the due date. Once the overdue notice is generated, they can no longer renew online.
Hope that helps,

Take a look at the relevant loan rules - there is a loan rule element (Time Remaining B4 Renew) that controls how soon before the due date the item can be renewed. It's possible that your Time Remaining B4 Renew is set to 2 days, while the courtesy notice (loan rule element is Number of Days Before ODue) goes out 3 days before the due date.
I hope this helps - I'm a relatively new Innovative site coordinator and this is my first post to the list!

Hello Everyone,
We send out our courtesy notice three days before the item is due. It instructs the patron on how to renew the books. We have gotten several complaints that the patron gets a message "too soon to renew." I usually go into the patron's account, the next day, and can renew the books. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem?
Thanks,
