Re: [IUG] Anybody Install LibraryThing for Libraries?

Alison,
We've been on LibraryThing for a few months and like it. The
instructions on their website seem to change on a weekly basis however!
What I think they mean is to use Control Character 9 (a tab) for the
field delimiter and Control Character 32 (a space) for the Repeated
Field Delimiter - or at least that was the format that I sent our
original file in, and it worked!
Good luck,
Ian

Hey all,
This morning is not turning out as planned, having problems with putting Syndetics on our staging site (see my earlier e-mail) and now trying to install LibraryThing.
I am trying to use the directions posted on http://www.librarything.com/wiki/index.php/III_WebPac_Pro_and_non-Pro. I haven't exported a file before, so not sure if I'm doing this correctly. I basically just created a review file for all bib records with a call number starting with "FIC." Then I clicked on the Export Records button. I got the Export Format screen as shown in the directions. However, while I was able to set the "Field delimiter" ascii character to 9, I am unable to choose/set the "Repeated field delimiter" to ascii character 32. I can type "3" but that's it.
The defaults (at least for our system) for "field delimiter" is a comma, "text qualifier" is quotation marks, "repeated field delimiter" is a semi-colon and "maximum field length" is none.
I don't know, these directions from LTFL seem a bit vague. If anyone has done this and can send me details on what they did, that would be great. I can't seem to get into the LFTL Google Group yet and the contact I am working with hasn't responded yet. The IUG always seems to solve my problems anyway. :)
Thanks much,
Alison
