[IUG] MARC 5xx Fields Reordered
[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]
Hello all,
I thought I would check with the IUG listservice before opening a call for this, but my system is encountering the following problem.
We outsource authority records to Marcive, and somewhere in the loading of the bib records returned to us, the 5xx fields are in a different order than what they were originally. For example, we'll send a DVD record which has the following string of 5xx fields (500, 511, 521, 520, 505, 538, 546) and after they are loaded, the records show the order as 511, 521, 520, 505, 538, 546, 500. Basically the 500s move to the end of the line.
I have checked the records returned from Marcive and they are in the same order as when we sent them. We do have one load table line (below)
|||0|0| | |0|n|G|0|@ov_protect="b=F024-031Vt(245:d)r(300:d)n(500:d)n(504:d)"
which we use to protect certain fields from overlay, but I can find nothing in the Load Profile Training book mentioning this line (or any other) causing the 500 field to be dropped to the end.
I consider what is happening a minor but perplexing issue.
Thanks for any insights,
Mike
