It is also possible (at least on our system) to edit the overlay protection list through the character based interface. Details can be found on page #101871 in the Release 2007 manual.

Hello,



We are trying to figure out how to circumvent problems importing new
patron records for the start of the new semester. Currently, our list of
students includes returning students as well as new students. For
returning students, the problem is that these records get overlaid and
consequently converts the patron status field to a setting with
different circulation privileges than we desire. Has anyone had this
problem and how have you solved it? Also, do you use FTS or Data
Exchange?
