- Subject: [IUG] Cross reference problem with series headings
Series that are established under an author's name (name-title entries)
have always been somewhat of a problem in the innovative system, but this
particular issue has me stumped.
I have this series authority record:
NAME AUTHR 100 1_
Oden, Thomas C.|tSystematic theology
UT SEE FRM 430
_0 Systematic theology
I am wondering why, when I search for the title {quot}Systematic
theology{quot} I do not get a cross-reference sending me to Oden, Thomas
C. NOR do I get the three books we have in the series, that have
the correct series heading in them:
SERIES 800 1_ Oden, Thomas C.|tSystematic theology ;|vv. 1.
I have tried this with other name-title series in our catalog, with the
same results. I have also tried this in a few other Innovative catalogs
on the web, and it didn't work in them either! So I'm thinking that maybe
it is not something specific to our own catalog setup, but inherent in
the system structure?
Can anyone offer any insight, or have you tried this in your own catalog?
(There are quite a number of popular fiction series that are set up this
way too-- I just can't think of any at the moment.)
Thanks!
