[IUG] Telnet Backslash Key Problem
[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]
The Backslash key "\" is acting as a destructive backspace key when logged in and using the INNOPAC Menu shell with telnet.
We discovered that issue when editing a Translation Table that required the "\" character to be entered.
The backslash will enter and display as a "\" at the "login as:" prompt but once you actually login to the Innovative Menu shell the backslash key acts as a destructive backspace key when pressed.
This can be easily tested by accessing A - Additional Functions, B Backup database to Tape. If you enter a couple characters in the "Please key your initials:" field then press the "\" key the key will act as a backspace key, not entering the character "\".
The backslash key works fine at the system command prompt level and with vi editing so it appears just to happen when logged in and working in the INNOPAC Menu shell.
I have tested with Putty and Tera Term with various keypad emulations but I have not found a workaround yet. I have opened a CALL to Innovative but wondered if anyone else had encountered this issue?
