Well there is no easy way for this. Actually I did the same thing as you
have described in the last paragraph. Linking to the WAM page and once
it authenticates then take them to the page which has the username and
password to the database with a link to the database.

Subject: [IUG] Login to get a PW?
We have a database, NC Live, which doesn't go through WAM -- a patron
just goes to the site, selects our library and puts in our library's
password to access it. Currently, a patron has to call the library to
ask for the password. Library staff checks to make sure if they're in
good standing (amount of fines, no bounced checks, etc.) and if they
are, they are told the password.
We would like to make the password to access the "NC Live" database more
available to patrons by putting it online and patrons log in to get
it. We could put a link to this password on the "patronview_web" page,
so a patron can get to it right after they log in. But the problem here
is that ALL patrons would have access to this password, not just the
ones in 'good standing', which is not what we want. - We also still
want these delinquent patrons to be able to log into their account.
We could have them log on through WAM, which is set up to block patrons
in bad standing, but there is a problems here. - If we put this
password page on, say, our regular library website, people could just
bookmark the page or whatever since it will be out in the open. I toyed
around with denying through htaccess but that won't work.
Does anyone have any ideas about how best to do this?
Thanks! Vicki Hain
