The 856 in the MARC display of their record is just like ours. It
contains the url to the resource and nothing more.
Is this difference in the link necessary because the linked page appears
in a frame?
Yes. The WebPAC software generates links using information from the
856 field. When a site uses frames, the URL of the generated link is
to a page on the server (which contains a frame for the resource),
not to the resouce itself. (If you were to open just the frame in
which the resource appears you'd see that its URL is what's in the MARC field.)
