Re: [IUG] Self issue receipts
[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]
Hi Lise,
We have been doing this with our automated returns machines supplied by 2CQR for the last 3 years.
We found the error messaging when customers couldn't return items more confusing than allowing them to return anything and getting a receipt.
We have not had a problem with it not showing who returned it. It is much quicker without having to get the customer to identify themselves. I compare it to a bank, where generally anyone can pay in. We just want the items back, we don't really care who returns them.

We've recently installed Biblioteca with self issue machines and are
trying to sort out what settings are responsible for what. At the
moment, we've found that:
1) The machine gives a successful return message and a return receipt
regardless of whether an item was actually out or not
2) Return receipts also do not show the name of the borrower - the
self issue machine vendor seems to think that we can only get this
info if the user is asked to scan their ID card for returns as well as
checkouts
Has anyone else had this situation? Any ideas on how it can be
changed or whether it does actually cause a problem in practice very
welcome.
Lise
