To add to Andrew's clarification, it looks like it's your index searches that are not retaining the location limit; as far as I can tell, your keyword searches are retaining the limit just fine.

I think the problem is a system bug that was discovered by Mieko Yamaguchi a while back, and which still persists (I see it in our R2007 Pro catalog as well). When the code for the location is less than 5 characters, the limit is not retained. You can see it in action by limiting to your circulating or reference collection, each of which has a location code less than five characters, and each of which is NOT retained when you re-limit the search. But if you limit to the DVD collection, which has a 5-character location code, the limit is retained.

I'm not sure if III can fix this; I don't see it as a known issue, but I'm too lazy to spend a lot of time looking for it.
