Re: [IUG] Using Create Lists instead of Paging Lists
[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]
Good morning! We have always used Create Lists as our Paging List,
finding Items that have captured holds. We do get frozen holds that
have captured an item and we LIST the Item Hold field which displays the
NNB (Not Needed Before) date so that our pages can ignore those items
when going to the shelves. We have not had a problem with multiple
copies appearing per hold. Here is one of our branch's search, sort
and list criteria, which may help you. Each of our branches do their
own paging list. To begin with, we store the Item record.. If you store
the bib, you may get all the attached items listing out...which may be
causing your multiples to appear... I hope this helps! Kind regards,
Eeva

Hi there,
We've decided to stop using the built-in Title Paging and Item Paging
reports. We are instead using a Create List to find items with holds
that match some additional criteria.
We're encountering the following problems:
*The Create List is showing "Frozen Holds"
*The Create List shows how many copies are on the shelf,
irregardless of how many requests there are (i.e. if we have 3 copies
on
the shelf, and there is only 1 hold, the title is listed 3 times).
Is anyone else pulling holds in this manner? Have you discovered a
means of eliminating "Frozen Holds?"
Thanks,
Andrew Kachaturian

In case anyone is curious, here are more details:
The criteria we're using is as follows:
In short:
*a bib OR title level hold must exist (if item level, then not in
a status of Hold Shelf or In Transit since all trapped holds are
item-specific)
*The loan rule must be 0 (meaning, not checked out)
*The status must be either checked in, on display, or in storage
(statuses we created)
*The item location is specific to each branch
We sort by item location, call#, and author
We are exporting:
In Excel, after a little formatting, it looks like this (which wastes
a
lot less paper...):
