- Subject: [IUG] system printer with IBM server
Hello all -
We are moving to an new IBM server next month and were told by
Innovative that our Okidata Microline 321 Turbo/D system printer
and Lantronix terminal server will not work with the new
server. They said "this serial setup is too slow for the speed of
the new IBM server. Print jobs will need to be sent to a networked
laser printer instead".
We would really like to keep using the 2-part crash mailer for the up
to 200 notices we print daily, so want to stay with an impact printer.
Is anyone else using a new IBM server and an impact printer? We
could buy a new printer with print server if necessary.
Or are you all printing notices and stuffing them into
envelopes? Printing on half sheet so they don't have to be folded?
Any ideas on how to make this move will be appreciated!
