We just check it in which will change the status to available, if we clear the last and paid when prompted. We do not put anything on the record, but we do keep a separate file of refunds. You could manually add an internal note to the item record.

Those machines should run fine. I have not seen any of my machines use more than about 500mb for the Millennium. We are running 2.8 P4 machines with 1gb ram and they run fairly well. We generally have Millennium open, one IE7 session, one Firefox session and maybe Excel or Word open on those machines.

Briget,
In-house use of an item record also changes the Update date of that item. If your system is setup to include the updated date as a search option in Create Lists, you could add this criteria to help narrow the list. It would pull in items that were updated for different reasons, but it would also help narrow your results.

Strange. Is your old terminal server a serial-to-server connection or is it ethernet-to-network-to-server? Either way, it should still be possible to connect it to any server.
If your old terminal server is serial-to-server and you don't need other terminal devices, you could get an ethernet-to-serial print server for just the printer:
e.g.
http://www.lantronix.com/device-networking/external-device-servers/?tab=3
There's a plethora of vendors for external print servers out there with differing levels of configuration options and models.
Also, if you are set on using impact printers, OKI is still making impact printers, many of which are compatible with their internal as well as external ethernet print servers. They end up being almost as expensive as networked laser printers when you add the print servers, but probably have lower operating costs over time.
HTH,
David

We're updating our website, and we're using a new style sheet. I've loaded it to our staging directory as styles.css, and it's working with the main menu and the various search screens. It's not working with any of the generated results pages.
In Firefox, the toplogo information displays, but doesn't format the header styles or display the graphics.
In IE 7 the toplogo information doesn't even display.
I'm not sure if this is a style sheet problem, or a wwwoptions problem?
Has anyone experienced something like this before?

I am trying to create a loan rule for headphones, laptop locks and other pieces of equipment that we circulate. We want students to be able to check out the equipment at any point during the day and have it due at the end of the day. I can do this with Code K, but I can't figure out how to time the overdues and the bill. I want them to get the first overdue the day after the item was due; the second overdue on the next day; and the bill on the third day.
Does anyone have an example of such a loan rule that they could send me?
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hi Fred,
<link> elements need to be in the <head> section of an HTML/XHTML page, but you have a series of <link> statements in the <body>, which is what is causing problems.
You need to make sure that the <link> statements are inserted in the <head>, it looks like you added them in the toplogo. Try the INSERTTAG_INHEAD wwwoption to insert additional links to css instead.

You've got an unclosed script tag (iii_to_refworks.js) in your INSERTTAG_INHEAD. This is causing the browser to think everything between that tag and the next closing script tag are part of the script.

The mainmenu page is calling the following style sheets:
http://library.lib.asu.edu:2082/scripts/ProStyles.css
http://library.lib.asu.edu:2082/screens/styles.css
http://library.lib.asu.edu:2082/styles.css
http://www.asu.edu/asuthemes/2.0/custom/all/css/endorsed_header_nav_scope.css
http://www.asu.edu/asuthemes/2.0/css/asu_footer.css
http://lib.asu.edu/sites/all/themes/asuzen/css/asu_print.css
...while the dynamic pages are calling only:
http://library.lib.asu.edu:2082/scripts/ProStyles.css
http://library.lib.asu.edu:2082/screens/styles.css
http://lib.asu.edu/sites/all/themes/asuzen/css/asu_print.css
My guess would be because the script element for the RefWorks Javascript doesn't close, and everything that comes between the opening script element and the first closing script element in the code is considered part of the script.
Plus the code in toplogo includes document structure code, which will typically cause problems of some sort or another.

How does your library record refunds for lost and paid items? Millennium puts a note in the item record when a patron pays for a lost item, and you can see the payment in "Fines Paid" on the patron record, but we have not found an elegant way to indicate that a lost item was subsequently found and a refund issued. Any suggestions?

At Jenkins we are using the 2007 Webpac pro example set. To see our new site visit
http://jac.jenkinslaw.org/. More features are available on staging
http://jac.jenkinslaw.org:2082 (this is still work in progress).

Subject: [IUG] Are you using the 2007 Webpac pro example set?
Hello,
I would like to see some live (or staging, for that matter!) examples of the Webpac Pro 2007 example set - if you are using these files, could you please send me a link to your site?
We are using the 2006 example set on our staging area (our live files are bit older!), and I'm curious to see what we might be missing with the 2007 files...
I understand the tabbed search screens are gone in 2007?
Thanks!
