[IUG] ResearchPro
[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]
We were an original Metafind site and converted to ResearchPro this spring.
We are locally hosted, running it on a blade server with RedHat OS. The
response time is much better than when we were hosted. The authentication
has been problematic. We are using WAM not LDAP. It doesn't work at all
with the blackboard module (this is an open call with III) and it isn't
working with Encore either, also an open call. Going straight into
ResearchPro works fine. We have two instances of ResearchPro, one has
licensed and public domain items, and the other is not authenticated and
open to the public (only public domain sites).

Related to this, are there any sites who have gone the locally-hosted route
for Research Pro? Can you comment on how that has worked? I understand
that sites outside the U.S. are required to host it locally, so I welcome
their input.
Also, anyone using LDAP and Research Pro? In general, are folks happy with
its user authentication features?
