We email or call all notices except bills.
On a bad day we print and snail mail about 100 notices and email or call about 1000 notices.

Subject: [IUG] Email Notices Only?

A few years ago, our library administration dictated that we use campus
email addresses (which are downloaded into their patron records) for all
current UCSD students and employees, but we also have a large "public"
card holder group. We currently only send the courtesy pre-overdue
notices to those patrons who provide us with an email address, but we're
considering expanding this to all of our circulation notices. Are there
any libraries that only use email for the sending of circulation
notices?
