[IUG] Star TSP743II receipt printers not printing logo

I wrote about this issue back in January, but got no response; perhaps
someone has figured something out in the meantime!

 

We purchased several Star TSP743 receipt printers a couple of years ago
and were able to configure them successfully to print a logo, autocut,
all was beautiful.

 

In January, we ordered more and were sent TSP743IIs, which came with a
new configuration utility. These will autocut, but we cannot for the
life of us get the logo to print properly with the receipt text. If we
switch to graphics mode in Millennium, we get the logo, but the text is
garbled and the thing spews out three feet of paper. We've talked to
their (Star) tech support people, to no avail.

 

We are using release 2006 1.3. We've also tried JRE versions 1.4.2_08
and 1.50_12.
