- Subject: [IUG] removing acquisitions funds
Hi,
We had a situation similar to the one Sue describes, and we learned a
lesson about deleting fund codes that might be useful to
others. After our fiscal close (Method 1), I created a new fund code
and modified order records to that fund. Then I deleted the old fund
and posted. I learned that I should have cleared the Fund Activity
Report before proceeding, because we ended up with orders posted to 2
funds, and we had a fund out of balance. We could not fix the
problem ourselves and had to open a Help Desk call, which meant going
several days without posting.
You can delete a fund from the current fiscal year if you don't need
it anymore, just be careful that it's not attached to any orders, and
clear the fund activity report. It doesn't affect the previous
fiscal year at all.

Subject: [IUG] removing acquisitons fund codes
I have a question about deleting fund codes. We are running
Millennium Release 2006.
Is it possible to remove a fund code from the list of current funds,
and still keep it in last year's funds? We just completed fiscal
year closing, and we have a few fund codes which have been used over
the years. But they will not be needed in this or future fiscal
years. We use Method 1 for fiscal close, so the fund codes
automatically came forward into this new fiscal year. I want to be
able to still view
the funds under the Old Funds for last fiscal year, but I don't want
them to show in the Current Fund list.
So, does the "delete" icon at the top of the Fund Maintenance screen
actually delete the fund from the system, or does it just remove it
from the Current Fund list?
Sincerely,
Sue Whitehead
