Thanks Carolyn,
Like Eeva we are printing them last. All others are on auto send which go out at 5am each day and I send the Bill Notices manually when I get to work at 8am. We have advised iii help desk this and Tue we asked iii for an update. Haven't heard back yet as to a solution.

When you set up connexion on that machine, was it installed for all users or just the one logged in?
Connexion tends to like to be shared for all users of a machine. We had to give most of our staff local admin priviledges after having troubles. Our systems people would log into admin, install it, then the staff using that machine had issues with Connexion until it was installed by the user with admin priviledges.

Thanks for the replies.
We are putting in the semicolon--I just forgot to put it in my post.
We have also tried putting a; at the end of the bib record number.
Even records saved to the online save file by another cataloger cannot be loaded by this particular computer/user.

This may not be the source of your problem, but according to our documentation you have to have a final semicolon at the end of the text
string:
*recs=b;bn=x;ov=.b12345678;
If the semicolon is the only problem, I'm not sure why it might have worked for you before and not now, but it may be worth testing. We're on the same software (except Mill 2006 1.3) and it's working for us.
Good luck.

Anyone who is using OCLC Connexion for downloading bib records, have you had this trouble?
Brand new PC, Windows XP, IE6.
Connexion 2.10.
.NET Framework 2.0
Millennium Release 2006, 1.1
JRE 1.42.08
We use a 949 text string to direct record overlay: 949 *recs=b;bn=mn;ov=.bxxxxxxx xxxxxx=the actual bib record number we want to overlay.
Bib records will not overlay.
Three PCs with the exact same software are working fine (older), one new PC is not.
We have experienced other problems with the older PCs and have had to stick with IE6 & JRE 1.42.08.
We have tried copying the connects.ini file from a good PC to the new PC.
We backed off .NET Framework from ver. 3.5 to ver. 2.0.
We have completely uninstalled Connexion (even manually deleted Registry entries), then reinstalled full version of Connexion.
We have a call open with OCLC, but so far no solution.

In "Transferring files using FTS" at page 106005 in the Release 2007 user manual, it states "You can select multiple files in the list by using the Shift and Ctrl keys". Has anyone been able to do this?
We've not been able to retrieve multiple files at one time.
Thanks for any help.

I have a review file with 1856 orders records. I know that there are 664 records in that file that do not have any payments on them. (I did an export on the paid line). When you export from OCLC, is the report screen coming up that shows your command line and gives information about the process? That should give you some insight as to what your Innovative system is doing with the record when it comes through. Is the overlay command recognized? Does it say the record is in use by the system? Can you send a screen print of the box? Since the record is exporting, I would say that the problem is NOT with the Connexion software, but rather in the command line or on the Innovative side.
Are you using a text string to input the command line then copying in the bib number to overlay? Try recreating the entire text string.

I can import multiple files from the vendor's server by depressing the ctrl key and highlighting as many as I want. You still have to process and load them separately though.

Jim: Thanks so much for your reply! I'll open a new call re: this issue and see what happens! In the meantime, we're recording our every keystroke prior to preparing the bills to see if it is perhaps a different series of keystrokes/mouse clicks that causes the file not to clear... We reported the same problem in April 2006 (MARSU 906327). We were advised that the problem had been sent to Software Engineering and we are still having the problem and have not gotten any feedback or update on a solution. We manually prepare and send Billing Notices deleting as many times as necessary. Our problem is identical to yours, sometimes it clears them all and other times it doesn't. We have not been able to identify any pattern as to when it works or doesn't work.

Good afternoon! We've got a very odd situation that we've been trouble-shooting for many months now. We're now on Release 2007 with no change. When we run the Billing Notices, print them and select to clear them, they don't always clear. This means that the next time we print them we get the last batch of bills also. Luckily, we've got one person doing this for all of our 16 branches, so she's able to remember the duplicates. This does NOT happen every time she clears, but seems to happen about every 4 times or so. Has anyone else had this problem with Notices not clearing? I had a call open with III months ago about it and they were unable to "replicate" it... Thanks for any help you might be able to offer! Kind regards, Eeva

Harriet,
You can sort them by payment and then delete record #665 onwards. It's very easy to do in character-based using G to select which records to delete.

Carolyn: Thanks so much! We ARE printing them as the last notice, though we don't do them right after the previous notice types are printed -- ie. there is often several hours in-between the printing...
We might consider playing around with the sequence and/or the timing to see if it does make a difference! Thanks again and kind regards, Eeva

We've always had a problem with the record number format because there wasn't any way to associate it with a particular scope or tell it to be unscoped, and it followed any scope previously set in a session. This can result in seeing the bib record with no items, which is a confusing.
Quoting an old list message on this: "I may start a search in the Entire Collection, and then change my scope to Marblehead for some particular search. Later, perhaps in a different tab, I may be looking at a NOBLE booklist with record number links. I click on one, and get directly to the right bib record, but no items, because the Marblehead library doesn't have any items.
This also happens when you follow the Public View link from Millennium clients. In these cases, the user often doesn't remember having been in a different scope in the browser session."
So we're glad to see the scopes added to the bib record number, because they are explicit and we can control them if we use them on booklists.
And it makes more sense that the permalink the user saves goes directly to the catalog view they were seeing when they saved it, scoped or unscoped.
We haven't moved to Release 2007 yet, but here's something we'd like to do with this newly scopable format of record number link. One of our biggest problems with the catalog has always been the inability to unscope a record. Suppose I do a search in the Salem State College scope and found a bib record, only to discover that the Salem State copy is long overdue.
I have no easy way to see if there are other items attached to that record.
What we'd really like is a link that says something like "See additional copies" and that only appears when there actually are other copies." But if we can't do that, we'd like to put the unscoped permalink on the bib record as a link, labeled "See all copies."
This means we'd need to take the permalink that the system generates, which might be this:
http://catalog.noblenet.org/record=b1059733~S32 and display it as this:
http://catalog.noblenet.org/record=b1059733~S50 (50 being our unscoped collection.
Has anyone done this? Is there some simpler solution that I'm missing, or some reason why this wouldn't work?
