Our customers have requested this but to the best of my knowledge it is not possible. Something that has been passed on to 3M.

We just let patrons know that they MUST look at their receipt to confirm the due date and time of each item.

Subject: [IUG] 3M Patron SelfCheck units - Can they be programmed to display a different loan success message depending on ITYPE?

We lend short term, 2 hour (ITYPE 161) loans from shelves located next to patron holds for collection (ITYPEs 40 and 120). Both sets of shelves are open access. Both types of books can be borrowed via a 3M SelfCheck unit. Problem is patrons often confuse the two sets of shelves. They are upset when they get overdue the next day because they mistakenly self-checked out a 2 hour loan copy.

The 3M SelfCheck machine in question is a 7210 model.

Can it programmed to display a different loan success message depending on Millennium ITYPE?

For example, when the short term loan is borrowed an alert flashes on the screen.
"Note: Two hour loan!"

TIA Graham
