- Subject: [IUG] Maximum number of fines on one patron record
We recently came upon a situation where a patron exceeded the system
maximum of 200 lines of fines on their record. Since the max fine
amount in the Patron Block table is $9,900.00 our patrons will hit the
maximum number of lines long before they will reach the maximum dollar
amount. We do not collect money in house so charges are not removed at
the time of payment. Our charges are sent to the university's
accounting department via III's Bursar Out program. Due to limitations
on the software that was in use by the Accounting Office at the time
that the Bursar Out product was purchased, we were unable to purchase
the Bursar In product. Therefore, charges are never cleared off the III
system.
Has anyone else dealt with patron reaching the maximum number of fines?
Do you know of a way to discover what other patron records may be
approaching this limit? Do you have any suggestions other than clearing
the older fines?
