ASSISTANT TECHNICAL SERVICES LIBRARIAN
Capital University, located in Columbus Ohio, is seeking a dynamic,
creative, self -directed individual as Assistant Technical Services
Librarian. Responsibilities include: managing Innovative Interfaces
Acquisitions and Serials modules; managing YBP book ordering process;
working with vendors and library employees to gather, organize and
evaluate acquisitions data for electronic, print, and non-print
materials. The individual also works collaboratively with faculty and
staff to insure that library resources being purchased meet the evolving
needs of the university community, and that these resources are
inventoried, organized and cataloged; maintains catalog integrity
through bibliographic record maintenance and reclassification of older
library materials; performs authority control and serves on the
Reference Desk.
Required qualifications: A MLIS Degree. Must posses excellent
organizational, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills. Must
have experience with a variety of software programs, including Microsoft
Office. Needs experience with the Innovative Interface Acquisitions,
Serials, and Cataloging modules, OCLC Connexion Client, and YBP book
ordering process. Must have familiarity with AACR2 cataloging rules.
Desirable Qualifications: Previous professional library experience in a
Technical Services department; familiarity with OhioLINK or other
academic library consortiums.
Salary range: $39,000 - $42,000.
