We had the same problem and were also told it related to the popup
blocker. In our case, changing the popup setting resolved the problem.

We were experiencing the same problem too. After further examination and

a call to JStor I found that the problem did not happen in IE 6 , IE 7,
Opera 9.27 or Safari 3, but in Firefox 2.0013. JStor suggested it was a
popup blocker, but I had the Firefox popup blocker turned off. To work
around this problem right click on the PDF link and open in new window,
then right click and save the actual PDF to your computer.

I also found a second solution. Open Acrobat Reader and uncheck "Display

PDF in browser" ( Open Acrobat ->Edit -> Preferences -> Internet ->).
This will cause any PDF to prompt the user to open the PDF with Acrobat
(which will work fine) or save the PDF on the computer.

Blessings
