I notice that you list more than one library in your catalog and have
similar Location information. Could you do something as simple as
modifying the wording a little to say
3 Wk Loan - Bennett
24 Hr Reserves - Bennett
2 Wk Loan - Surrey

At present we use the location code to also display the loan period
in the OPAC. So location code '3 week' displays as 'Bennett Library
3 Weeks' (meaning Bennett Library stacks, 3 week
loan). See http://troy.lib.sfu.ca:80/record=b5174598a for an example.
This is not an ideal situation as there are items in the Bennett
Library stacks which are not 3 week loans. Does anyone have an
elegant solution to this? I don't know if this is particular to
Academic libraries because of our many various loan periods
especially for reserve items, but it seems to us that letting the
patron know what the loan period will be is very useful.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.
