- Subject: [IUG] Intermittant, Incorrect "Not in Scope" Problems
I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this. From time to time I
get a report from one of our branch libraries that they cannot do
something with an item -- usually change its location code. They get a
"Not in Scope" message. I've checked everything I can think of --
log-ons, permissions, the location scoping -- and I cannot find any
reason for these occasional messages. The same log-ons can usually edit
other item records from that same location code, so the problem is not a
general one associated with particular location codes. It just seems
like certain items don't want to be edited. However, I can edit them
with a higher-authorization log-on.
This isn't a huge problem, but it happens fairly regularly, and the
staff members who report it are usually pretty sharp, so I don't think
operator error is involved. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
