We have a dilemma when trying to purge patron records that 'appear' to
not have had any activity for 2 years (our policy for purging patron
records). We require that a patron log onto our internet using their
library card and pin number and then they are authenticated as to
whether or not they are an adult or juv (filters for juveniles). We
cannot purge these folks because while it may look like they are not
using their library card, they actually are using it to log onto the
internet. Our timing software is Envisionware and we asked them at PLA
if there were any way that when they verified a patron record, could
they update the patrons record in the 'last updated' field. They said
that we could write a script to do this. So, has anyone done this or
heard of a way to do this?
Much thanks for any thoughts/help/ideas.
