The University of Nevada, Reno Libraries will move into a 295,000 square
foot building during summer 2008. The Mathewson-IGT Knowledge Center
offers high-tech computing spaces and traditional reading rooms,
provides art display areas, a 168 seat auditorium, a coffee shop, and a
robotic book retrieval system, as well as office and work areas for over
100 permanent staff members and approximately 150 student employees.
With a five-story atrium and spectacular views of the surrounding
mountains and city lights, the building is a campus centerpiece and a
social, as well as intellectual, hub for over 16,000 University of
Nevada students.



Document Delivery/E-Reserves Librarian


The Libraries seek a public services librarian to administer document
delivery and electronic reserves services. The Knowledge Center will use
a coordinated service model, integrating many library and IT functions.
We are seeking an energetic and innovative librarian to lead newly
combined departments. The position will contribute to the broad public
services and outreach mission that includes reference services at the
merged Research & Computing Help Desk and subject specialist duties for
assigned departments. The successful candidate will demonstrate
excellent communication skills, superior organizational skills, and a
strong commitment to customer service. The position reports to the Head
of Library Access Services.

Minimum qualifications include an MLS or equivalent from an ALA
accredited program and scanning operations experience. Experience in an
interlibrary loan department with an online document delivery system;
with automated library systems and related databases (Ebsco, OCLC) and
ability to meet university requirements for tenure and promotion.




Head of Library Access Services (Librarian)


The Libraries seek a creative individual with outstanding leadership,
management, and organizational skills to lead and manage Library Access
Service units. Under the direction of the Director of Information
Services, the Head of Library Access Services provides overall
management of circulation, electronic reserves, document delivery
services, and the libraries' automated retrieval systems and open
stacks. These departments are newly coordinated in preparation for the
move to the Knowledge Center, combining many library and IT functions in
an integrated, high-tech and collaborative environment.

Minimum qualifications include an MLS or equivalent from an ALA
accredited program, three years' supervisory experience in an academic
library, and knowledge of integrated library systems, particularly
circulation and ability to meet tenure and promotion requirements.





Salary range for both positions: $56,733 to $87,281 DOE. Full benefits
