We have changed our System Option to "Ask." When staff log in they are
asked whether they want to print due slips and they can say NO. If they
shift to another mode and then back to circ mode, they are asked again.
A little annoying, but at least they can't forget to answer as they can
forget to uncheck the "print slips" box.
Those at the circ desk seem to like this, too, since they don't want to
print receipts for some reserve items.

Subject: [IUG] Printing due date slips on checkout
We always want to print due date receipts for customers when they check
out
at the circ desk. However, our circ staff does not want to print
receipts
when they are checking materials out from staff workstations since we
are
often doing this for internal purposes and it is just a waste of paper.
We
know that we can check and uncheck the "print slip" box in MilCirc but
staff usually forgets to do this. Also switching to another mode and
then
back to checkout automatically rechecks the box.
The only setting I can find that controls this is in System Options but
I
can't change this setting without adversely affecting our regular
checkout
process. What I would really like is for this setting to be connected
to a
login so that when staff login to back room workstations the box is
never
checked and stays that way but I don't see that it is possible. Please
let
me know if I am overlooking something or if anyone has a solution.
Thanks,
Barbara
