Hi Teresa,
We've received this message also. Staff state that after several
attempts (and that can be as many as five or six tries), the connection
is made. Sometimes they close the client and then it works. The
problem is very inconsistent.

Subject: [IUG] FTP/Edifact Sending issue
Hi Everyone,
We've had an annoying problem creep up in our sending of orders to a
vendor. I've checked to make sure all vendor information is correct in
our system, yet we cannot get it to initialize.
In ftping purchase orders to the vendor we are finding that all but one
vendor are sending properly. The problem one isn't even making it out of
our system.
-in Acquisitions
-Send
- Print/Send Purchase Orders
-either Ftp all or Ftp selected
We get this error when Ftp is clicked:
WARNING: Failed to ftp
Warning: Failed to initialize vendor data for ftp session
then
WARNING: Ftp Cancelled
Then trying to close or do something else crashes the system:
Error
The server is not responding.
The client must be restarted.
If this problem persists, please contact Innovative.

Now this only happens with one specific vendor code. All the others
work.
I've checked their setup and all the data is the same. I had been
sending out stuff fine on this vendor code until the past couple weeks.
Now it's hit or miss if it will work.
I've tried clearing out all the purchase orders and resending them, but
the same errors come up.
We know its not an issue with our vendor because it's on our end.
Anyone have a similar problem or ideas aside from calling Innovative
(which our systems librarian will do when back from vacation)?
Thanks for any help in this matter.
Teresa
