Subject: [IUG] styles.css bafflement

Hello, everyone --

After turning this one every which way for awhile, I come to you all for
help.

In our styles.css file, we have the following default:
.errormessage { font-size: large; color: #FF0000; }

I would like very much to change this to
.errormessage { font-size: medium; color: #1E028C; }

But no matter what I do -- restart the server as well as, obviously,
save the file, the change doesn't take place. I've tried this multiple
times.

I am testing this against the error screen which comes up when one
requests a non-requestable item. I'm assuming that "Sorry, request
cannot be accepted. Copy is available" is an error message, and its
appearance is controlled by .errormessage, because I don't see any other
style declaration in styles.css that would apply to this. So, it's this
phrase which remains big and red as compared with medium and blue (what
I'd prefer, much less offensive), no matter what I do.

I've been poking at this for weeks. Obviously, I'm missing something --
I'll be grateful to be set straight.

TIA, very much --
